Brown County Local Coordinating Council (Governor’s Commission for Drug-Free Indiana) is accepting grant applications to address local substance abuse-related issues in three areas: prevention/education, intervention and treatment and justice/law enforcement.
Proposals must directly address one or more problem statements identified in the 2011-2014 Brown County Comprehensive Community Plan addressing alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. The problem statements are:
Brown County has identified underage alcohol consumption and alcohol abuse by adults as a significant problem in the community.
Brown County has identified underage tobacco consumption and the ongoing use of tobacco products by adults as a significant problem in the community.
Brown County has identified the abuse of prescription drugs as a significant problem in the community.
Brown County has identified illicit drug use, i.e., marijuana, methamphetamine, etc. as a significant problem in the community.
