The Somerset County Health Department, on behalf of the Cigarette Restitution Fund (CRF) Cancer/Tobacco Community Coalition, is soliciting mini grant proposals from 501(c)(3) (not for profit) or governmental organizations serving Somerset County that are interested in preventing and/or reducing tobacco use in their community.
The grant money must be used to create new programs and may not be used to replace or supplement existing programs. The focus must be on the prevention of the use of tobacco products (cigarettes, cigars, and/or chewing tobacco), and/or preventing exposure to secondhand smoke, and include educational outreach about tobacco to the community.
One mini grant of $3,500.00 will be awarded to one agency. Consideration will be given to any local governmental or non-profit organization such as a community center or group, daycare center, church, civic organization, youth group, counseling center.
The deadline for proposal submission is November 15, 2013 by 4:00 p.m. No late applications will be accepted. Proposals must be mailed or hand delivered to the Somerset County Health Department, 7920 Crisfield Hwy., Westover, MD 21871, Attention: Cara Rozaieski, CRF Tobacco Coordinator. The Somerset County Health Department Cigarette Restitution Fund Program reserves the right to reject any proposals.
